Telmo Rodríquez is a Spanish winery founded in 1994. Around the world it has a reputation as a pioneer supporting Spanish winemaking, a travelling oenologist and a "driving wine-maker". It earned this reputation above all by travelling to individual regions to make wines from a single harvest using only the region's native varieties. It also devotes special care to restoring forgotten vineyards. The Telmo Rodríquez brand reflects an immense love of wine and fine winemaking craft.

Telmo Rodríguez Pegaso Granito is a terroir-driven red wine from the Vinos de la Tierra Castilla y León region, specifically from the village of Cebreros in the Sierra de Gredos.
The Pegaso project is one of Telmo Rodríguez's iconic ranges devoted to the Garnacha (Grenache) variety, where vineyards on granite - magmatic granite soils at altitudes of around 800–1000 m above sea level give the wine a distinctive mineral depth, finesse and complexity. Pegaso Granito is generally seen as a wine with a rich fruit expression, velvety structure and delicate minerality, the result of traditional work in both the vineyard and the cellar.

Grape variety: 100% Garnacha

Vineyard: The grapes come from vineyards on shallow, granite soils with a coarse texture and very good drainage, which allow deep development of aromas and structure in the wines. The altitude and specific soil composition give the wine a characteristic mineral streak and fresh acidity.

Production and ageing: After hand harvesting, fermentation takes place with native yeasts, and the wine then ages for 18–24 months in 600 l French oak barrels from various forests and origins. This long ageing process helps create a complex structure and elegant integration of oak without excessive vanilla or barrique tones.

Taste and aroma: Pegaso Granito is characterised by an intense fruit profile of dark and red berries, complemented by pronounced aromatic elements of herbs, spice and hints of forest or Mediterranean aromatic herbs, reminiscent of the region where it is made. On the palate the wine is medium to full-bodied, with good acidity, velvety, well-integrated tannins and a long, harmonious finish that combines fruity richness with the minerality of the granite soils.

Food pairing: The recommended serving temperature is 16 – 18 °C. This wine pairs very well with grilled red meat, game, lamb or richer ragouts, where its complex fruity tones and mineral structure beautifully complement the more intense flavours of the dishes.
