D.O. Toro/Pago la Jara 0.75l
Wine Telmo Rodríguez Pago La Jara is a robust yet elegant red wine from the Toro region, combining the intensity of ripe dark fruit with pleasant freshness and mineral depth typical of the local terroir. The palate is dominated by rich black and dark fruit, complemented by delicate spicy and herbal notes, well-integrated tannins and a long, harmonious finish, giving the wine both structure and drinkability.
Thanks to its fullness and complexity, Pago La Jara pairs wonderfully with grilled or roast red meat, lamb, game or mature cheeses, where its fruity character and depth beautifully complement dishes and enhance the gastronomic experience. The recommended serving temperature is 16-18 °C.

Telmo Rodríquez is a Spanish winery founded in 1994. Around the world it has a reputation as a pioneer championing Spanish winemaking, a travelling oenologist and a "driving wine-maker". It earned this reputation mainly because it travels to individual regions to make wines from a single harvest using only the native varieties of each area. It also devotes special care to reviving forgotten vineyards. The Telmo Rodríquez brand reflects an immense love of wine and fine winemaking craft.
Telmo Rodríguez Pago La Jara is a quality, terroir-driven red wine from the Toro region, made from carefully selected old vines in the villages of Argujillo, Villabuena and Morales. The wine represents the characteristic style of the region - a powerful, elegant and structured expression of Tempranillo with mineral depth and pronounced fruitiness, which lets it excel both on its own and paired with food.
The soil of deep, gravelly, well-drained slopes helps concentrate the wine's aromas and structure, the result of traditional, terroir-focused work in both vineyard and cellar.

Grape variety: mainly Tinta de Toro (a local form of Tempranillo) with a small proportion of Albillo Mayor, which together create a rich fruit and structural profile with firm yet polished tannins.
Vineyard: the grapes come from five special plots (roughly 4 ha in total), traditionally cultivated, with low bush density and without heavy mechanisation, which encourages healthy, even ripening of the grapes.
Production and ageing: the grapes are not fully destemmed, fermenting spontaneously with native yeasts in large wooden vats (3,000 l), and the wine then ages for 15-18 months in a combination of barrique barrels (225 l) and foudres (1,500 l), giving the wine depth, structure and complexity.
Aromatic profile and taste: Pago La Jara has an intense aroma of dark fruit, such as plums and black berries, complemented by spicy and mineral notes. On the palate it is full-bodied and well structured, with lively acidity, firm, polished tannins and a long finish that expresses both the power and elegance of the Toro style.
Food pairing: Recommended serving temperature 16-18 °C. The wine pairs wonderfully with grilled or roast red meat, lamb, game, stews and mature cheeses, where its strong structure and fruit depth truly shine.
