In addition, he pays special attention to restoring forgotten vineyards. The Telmo Rodríquez brand embodies an immense love for wine and fine winemaking craft.
The wine Telmo Rodríguez Lanzaga is a representative red wine from Rioja Alavesa in Spain, embodying the heart of the Telmo Rodríguez project in the village of Lanziego de Álava. The wine is made from a selection of the best grapes from organically farmed vineyards in the surrounding area, where soils with a continental influence and varied mineral structure give the wine a pronounced terroir character. Lanzaga combines a traditional respect for place, hand harvesting of the grapes, fermentation with native yeasts and careful work in the cellar, giving the wine authenticity and the character of a typical village Rioja wine.
Grape variety: a blend of Tempranillo, Graciano and Garnacha, which together create a complex fruity and structural profile.
Production and ageing: after hand harvesting, fermentation takes place with native yeasts, and the wine then ages for approximately 14 months in a combination of large foudres and barrels of various sizes, which gives the wine depth, balance and gently integrated wood.
