D.O.Valdeorras/LG Valbuxan
Telmo Rodríguez LG Valbuxán is a terroir-driven expressive red wine from D.O. Valdeorras in Galicia, made from carefully tended vineyards around the historic Pazo Valbuxán. The grapes are hand-picked on steep, granite slopes, giving the wine mineral depth and an authentic character of the region.
On the palate it offers juicy red fruit, subtle spicy and herbal notes, a mineral streak and velvety tannins. Medium-bodied, fresh and harmonious, this wine is well suited to drinking on its own as well as to roasted meat, lamb or mature cheeses.

Telmo Rodríquez is a Spanish winery founded in 1994. It has earned a reputation worldwide as a pioneer championing Spanish winemaking, a travelling oenologist and a "driving winemaker". This reputation comes largely from the fact that he travels to different regions in search of wine, producing single-harvest wines using only the region's native varieties. He also devotes special care to reviving forgotten vineyards. The Telmo Rodríquez brand reflects an immense love of wine and fine winemaking craft.
LG Valbuxán is an expressive and terroir-true red wine from D.O. Valdeorras in Galicia, which reflects the local terroir and traditional cultivation on steep, granite slopes. It is an authentic, approachable wine with mineral depth and freshness that faithfully reflects the character of the region and the historic Pazo Valbuxán, around which this project was born.
Grape variety: Mencía, Brancellao, Sousón and Garnacha Tintorera, traditional local varieties that together create a harmonious, aromatically complex and balanced wine profile.
Vineyard: The grapes come from small vineyards around the Valbuxán estate and the villages of As Ermidas and Santa Cruz, farmed with an emphasis on organic and sustainable practices, with hand harvesting and careful selection, supporting intense aroma and expression of terroir.
Production and ageing: Fermentation takes place spontaneously with native yeasts in open oak tanks, after which the wine ages for several months in French oak foudres and barrique barrels, giving the wine depth, a fine texture and a sophisticated integration of oak without excessive vanilla notes.
Taste and aroma: In the glass, LG Valbuxán offers juicy red and dark fruit, mineral tones from the granite soils, a subtle herbal and spicy component and smooth, velvety tannins. The wine is medium-bodied, with balanced acidity and a long, harmonious finish that reflects the freshness and authenticity of the Valdeorras terroir.
Food pairing: The recommended serving temperature is 16–18 °C. It goes wonderfully with roasted and grilled meat, lamb, game, stews, and also with more pronounced mature cheeses.
