Luis Cañas Reserva is an elegant red wine from the Rioja Alavesa region, made from 95% Tempranillo and 5% Graciano from old bush vines.
After ageing 18 months in oak barrels, it offers a rich flavour of ripe fruit, spice, vanilla and delicate wood.
On the palate it is balanced, with smooth tannin and a long, elegant finish.
It pairs wonderfully with roasted meats, game or matured cheeses. It is best served at 16–18 °C.

Grape variety: 95% Tempranillo and 5% Graciano
Vineyard and origin: The grapes come from vineyards in Villabuena de Álava in the heart of Rioja Alavesa, a region known for its ideal conditions for growing quality grapes. Bush vines aged 40 to 50 years are used, planted on poor clay-limestone soils. Hand-picking and selection of the grapes ensure that only the best berries go into production.
Production and ageing: After careful hand sorting and destemming of the grapes, the wine undergoes fermentation and then ages for 18 months in oak barrels (60% French and 40% American). This is followed by several more months resting in the bottle before release. Thanks to this ageing, the wine gains finesse, complexity and the ability to develop further.
Taste and aroma: The wine has a deep ruby colour with garnet highlights. The nose is dominated by ripe red and dark fruit (plums, cherries), which blend harmoniously with notes of spice, vanilla, cocoa and delicate toast from the wood. On the palate it is full, round, with balanced tannin, gentle acidity and a long, elegant finish. Over time the wine develops tertiary notes such as leather, tobacco and balsamic.
Food pairing: We recommend it with roasted meats such as lamb or beef, game and grilled dishes, but also with matured cheeses or charcuterie. It is an ideal wine for celebratory occasions or for enjoying over a long meal. We recommend serving at a temperature of 16–18 °C..
