Oller del Mas, Bernat Oller, D.O. Pla de Bages, red wine, 0.75l

This unique red wine, Bernat Oller, produced by the Mas del Oller winery, combines two varieties - Merlot and the local Picapoll Negre. The grapes grow on a vineyard at 240 m above sea level, whose clay subsoil is poor in organic nutrients. Fermentation takes place over 8 days at a temperature of 22 °C, followed by 13 days of maceration. The wine then ages for 12 months in French oak barrels and the same length of time directly in the bottle. This wine received 86 points from Robert Parker. The Oller del Mas winery is located on the site of a restored medieval castle from the 10th century. It has 600 ha of land at its disposal, of which 60 ha are organic vineyards, where no chemicals are used and only organic fertilisers are applied.  Grape variety: 90% Merlot, 10% Picapoll Negre We recommend serving this wine with roast, grilled and stewed meat, charcuterie and vegetables. The optimal serving temperature is 16 °C.
