Grape variety: The wine is a blend of 90% Tempranillo and 10% Garnacha. This blend combines the power and fruitiness of Tempranillo with the finesse and freshness of Garnacha, creating a harmonious, well-balanced wine.

Origin and vineyards: The grapes come from small, carefully selected plots in the village of Samaniego, located at the foot of the Sierra Cantabria mountains in the high-altitude Rioja Alavesa region. The vineyards lie at an altitude of 550 m, where marked temperature swings between day and night promote aromatic concentration and freshness in the grapes. The vines are over 45 years old.

Production and ageing: The grapes are hand-picked and then sorted on a two-level selection table to ensure maximum quality. Fermentation takes place in concrete tanks, which promotes gentle extraction and preserves the fruity character. The wine ages for 12 months using a combination of 80% French and American oak (225 l barrels), 10% in 500 l foudres and 10% in concrete tanks, which contributes to the wine's complexity and finesse.

Taste and aroma: It is characterised by a fruity, fresh profile dominated by red fruit such as strawberries and redcurrant, complemented by notes of black fruit (blueberries and blackberries). The nose is enriched with spicy hints of pepper, violet and white flowers, evoking the character of young red wines from the Rioja Alavesa region. On the palate the wine is silky, refined and very fruity, with a firm tannin structure that gives it good body, and good acidity that ensures freshness and a long finish.

Food pairing: This wine is ideal for pairing with charcuterie, maturing cheeses, red meat and lightly matured cheeses. Recommended serving temperature: 16 °C.
