Guímaro, Camiňo Real, D.O. Ribeira Sacra, red wine, 0.75l

Guímaro Camiño Real is a red wine produced by Bodega Guímaro in Sober, in the D.O. Ribeira Sacra region. The wine is made predominantly from the Mencía variety, with 20% from other varieties such as red Grenache, Caíño Tinto, Mouratón and Sousón. These grapes come from several vineyards planted mainly on slate soils. All the grapes were hand-harvested together and fermented spontaneously as whole clusters in open oak vats with a 40-day maceration. Half the wine aged in foudre and the other half in used 225 and 500l French barrels, for approximately one year. The finished wine was bottled without fining or filtration.  Guímaro Camiño Real is a juicy, elegant and fresh wine. On the nose, the aroma of fresh red fruit stands out, with floral tones against a mineral background. In the mouth its whole character comes through - it is easy to drink and fresh. It pairs excellently with all kinds of meat and dishes made from it. We recommend serving the wine at a temperature of 16 °C.
