Cortijo Los Aguilares Tinto is a fresh and very approachable red wine from the Serranía de Ronda area in southern Spain, created as a cuvée of the Tempranillo, Garnacha and Syrah varieties.
Thanks to the high altitude of the vineyards it retains lively acidity and pronounced fruitiness, expressed through notes of cherries, raspberries and subtle herbal nuances.
The wine does not undergo ageing in oak, which highlights its clean, juicy and slightly spicy character.
It is ideal as an everyday wine. Elegant, easy to drink and pairs wonderfully with a wide range of dishes.
Grape variety: The wine is a cuvée made up of approximately 75% Tempranillo, 16% Garnacha and 9% Syrah.
Vineyard:
The grapes come from the winery's own vineyards in the Serranía de Ronda area (Málaga), planted at altitudes of around 900 m above sea level on clay-limestone soils. Thanks to this altitude and microclimate, the grapes ripen more slowly, which supports the wine's freshness and aromatic intensity.
Production and ageing:
The harvest is done by hand and the grapes are carefully selected. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature in concrete tanks, where malolactic fermentation subsequently takes place as well. The wine does not undergo ageing in oak, but remains for approximately 4 months in concrete tanks, which preserves its clean, fruity and fresh character.
Aroma and taste:
The wine is characterised by a pronounced aroma of red fruit (cherries, raspberries, strawberries) complemented by subtle balsamic and herbal notes, sometimes with a hint of fennel or flowers. On the palate it is fresh, juicy and very drinkable, with a light to medium body, fine tannins and pleasant acidity that supports its liveliness. Overall it comes across as harmonious, fruity and elegant, with an emphasis on purity and approachability.
Food pairing:
Thanks to its lightness and freshness the wine is very versatile. It pairs beautifully with pasta, pizza, tapas, grilled vegetables, lighter meats or charcuterie. It also works excellently as an "everyday" wine or for informal occasions.
