Moraza, Soplar, D.O. Rioja, red wine, 0.75l

Rioja Soplar contains no added sulphites, is unfiltered, and has a beautiful lively tension and bright red fruit. This wine shows that Tempranillo grapes do not always have to produce big, full-bodied wines intended for long oak ageing. The wine therefore ferments spontaneously in stainless steel tanks and is then bottled directly without further intervention. This Rioja is not in the least elusive on the nose or the palate - it is simply pleasant and fresh. An excellent wine that shows the sparkle of Tempranillo grapes; in the taste you can recognise red stone fruit such as cherry and sour cherry, but also strawberries or rhubarb.  Thanks to its freshness, Soplar is excellent lightly chilled to 14 °C with spicy and smoked dishes, or even hamburgers. Unlike many modern Riojas, which are adapted to the international market, Bodegas Moraza uses purely traditional methods, thanks to which it produces a fresh, less oaky wine with authentic character. Instead of blending grapes from different vineyards to create the familiar taste of conventional Rioja, these wines are the result of the complexity of the terroir.
