Moraza, Los Terreros, D.O. Rioja, white wine, 0.75l

A truly opulent white wine, made from Viura and Malvasia grapes from the highest vineyards of the Moraza winery. The vines grow on limestone-clay subsoil close to the Atlantic Ocean.  After hand-picking, the wine stays in contact with the skins for roughly a month to gain its rich, creamy quality. Spontaneous fermentation in stainless steel tanks follows. The resulting wine is truly unique, full-bodied and chalky, yet extremely smooth at the same time. It pairs perfectly with fish, seafood and starters. Unlike many modern Riojas, which have been adapted to the international market, Bodegas Moraza uses purely traditional methods, gaining a fresh, less oaky wine with authentic character. Instead of blending grapes from different vineyards to achieve the familiar taste of conventional Rioja, the wines are the result of the complexity of the terroir.
