Vineyard and ageing: Espectacle wine is born from an ancient vineyard, more than 120 years old, located amid magnificent scenery in the north-western part of Montsant. Hand-picked grapes, cooled to 4 °C and carefully sorted. Fermentation takes place over 30 days in large French oak barrels, after which the wine ages for 14 to 16 months in the same barrels.
Espectacle is considered one of the best Grenache wines in the world! It masterfully expresses an impressive finesse and complexity. The wine is marked by, and deeply connected to, its local terroir. In short, luxury within reach of the privileged few.

Grape variety: 100% Grenache

Taste and aroma: The 2018 vintage was cooler, which led to slower ripening of the grapes and an alcohol level of 16%. The wine is characterised by a deep ruby colour with purple hues and complex aromas of ripe black fruit, flowers such as rose and orange blossom, along with hints of spice, liquorice and delicate oak. On the palate it is full, with round and elegant tannins, freshness and a long finish.

Food pairing: Recommended serving temperature is 16ºC. It pairs beautifully with grilled meat. This type of wine also complements game, such as deer or fallow deer, prepared in red wine or in heavier sauces. Mature cheeses, such as Manchego or Pecorino, or blue-veined cheeses such as Roquefort or Cabrales, also pair well. It also complements intense dishes, such as Indian cuisine or Mediterranean food, which use bold spices and flavours.
