Baigorri, De Garage, D.O.C. Rioja, red wine, 0.75l

This delicious wine is made from the Tempranillo variety at the Baigorri winery, situated in the heart of Rioja. The vines come from old, low-yield vineyards and are hand-picked and sorted. Before fermentation, the grapes undergo a long maceration to bring out all the aromas contained in the vines. During the first fermentation, the wine is placed in wooden vats and kept at a temperature of 28 °C. It is then pressed, followed by a second fermentation in oak barrels at a temperature of 20 °C. The length of ageing in barrique barrels depends on the tasting committee, which regularly tastes the wine from each barrel separately.  This wine has won several prestigious awards - 2010 vintage - Best Rioja Red Wine award, Best Spanish Varietal Wine over £10 award, "Decanter World Wine Awards", Gold "Concurso de los Mejores Vinos Españoles para Asia", 2011 vintage - Trophée Prestige, "Les Citadelles du Vin. Grand Concours des Vins du Monde". 2012 vintage - Gold, "Premios Bacchus". Grape variety:  100% Tempranillo.
