Motor blanc is a white wine made from grapes of the almost-vanished indigenous Mallorcan variety Prensal, also called "Moll". The vines of this variety grow on iron-rich clay soil, which gives the resulting wine a mild salinity. After careful hand-picking, a three-stage production process takes place, in which 35% of the vintage undergoes carbonic maceration, 35% macerates for four days at a controlled temperature, and 30% in 335-litre clay amphorae, known as tinajas. Motor blanc is the perfect "thirst-quenching" wine, light and very easy to drink. In the glass it has a beautiful lemon-yellow colour with coppery hints; the aroma brings white fruit such as peaches, pear, piel de sapo melon, which gradually shifts towards the scent of herbs. On the palate it is very light and fresh, with a mild salinity and a gently chalky aftertaste. As already mentioned, Motor blanc is wonderfully enjoyed on its own in hot weather, or in combination with classic Mediterranean specialities such as fish and seafood, light pasta, salads or poultry.
