12 Volts is a delicious red wine from the 4 Kilos winery, located on Mallorca. The island has a mild Mediterranean climate, characterised by very dry, hot summers and low rainfall. The result is high-quality wines that have earned a reputation around the world. After hand harvesting comes maceration and fermentation in stainless steel tanks. The temperature is carefully monitored - starting at 20 °C and later raised to 28 °C. The whole process is completed with 9 months of ageing in French oak barrique barrels. The result is an excellent red wine of intense red colour with aromas of ripe red fruit and Mediterranean herbs, which pairs well with white meat, fish, lamb or semi-mature cheeses. We recommend serving chilled at 16 °C. The 4 Kilos winery is located in the town of Felanitx, and its name comes from the colloquial expression for 4 million pesetas. That was in fact the amount that Francesc Grimalt and Sergio Caballero originally invested to found the winery. It was a modest investment, proving that good wine does not need money, but above all passion and determination. At 4 Kilos, they focus on rational farming that is as environmentally friendly as possible and has minimal impact on the surrounding landscape. They use native vegetation with a large microbial population to ensure great biodiversity in the vineyard. This results in wines of outstanding quality, in which honest work, the specific climate and a love of the craft are reflected.
