4 Kilos is a delicious red wine from the winery of the same name in Mallorca. The Callet grapes come from vineyards aged 20 to 45 years in the southern and northern parts of the island. They are hand-picked and hand-sorted, followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks and wooden vats at a temperature of between 20 and 30 °C, after which the wine is aged in Allier barrique barrels for 12 months. The result is a premium-quality wine of medium body and good acidity, giving it freshness and persistence on the palate. In short, a faithful expression of the Callet variety. We recommend serving the wine at a temperature of 16 °C and decanting before serving. It pairs wonderfully with game, beef, lamb and matured cheeses.  The 4 Kilos winery is located in the town of Felanitx, and its name comes from the colloquial expression for 4 million pesetas - the amount that Francesc Grimalt and Sergio Caballero invested at the outset to found the winery. It was a modest investment, proving that good wine does not need money so much as passion and determination. At the 4 Kilos winery, they focus on rational farming that is as environmentally friendly as possible and has minimal impact on the surrounding landscape. They use native vegetation with a rich microbiological population to ensure great biodiversity in the vineyard. This results in wines of outstanding quality, reflecting honest work, a specific climate and a love of the craft.
