D.O.Rioja/Gómez Cruzado, Crianza 0.75l

This sophisticated red wine combines the power of Tempranillo from the foothills of the Sierra Cantabria with the finesse of Garnacha from Alto Najerilla. Thanks to careful hand-harvesting, controlled fermentation and twelve months of ageing in oak barrels, it offers a perfectly balanced flavour profile.

Grape variety: A blend of 75% Tempranillo (Sierra Cantabria) and 25% Garnacha (Alto Najerilla).

Ageing: The wine aged for 12 months in oak barrels, a combination of American and French oak, giving it delicate spicy notes and a complex structure.

Vineyard: Origin of the grapes: Tempranillo – clay-limestone soil (Sierra Cantabria), Garnacha – clay-iron soil (Alto Najerilla)

Harvest: hand-picked into 200kg crates, with grape selection right at the winery

Tasting notes: The wine is harmonious, fresh and elegant. Dark fruit (plums, blackberries), violets and subtle spice dominate the palate. A medium-full body with well-integrated tannins and a long mineral finish is underscored by a delicate touch of vanilla and cocoa from ageing in oak barrels.

Food pairing: Grilled red meat (beef steak, lamb chops), medium-to-higher intensity cheeses (aged Manchego, Comté), tapas and Mediterranean cuisine (roasted peppers, Iberian ham, paella with meat), rich sauces and braised dishes (beef cheeks in red wine, game)
