This quality cherry-coloured red wine is produced by the Dominio de Atauta winery, located in D.O. Ribera del Duero. The Atauta valley, which lies on the eastern edge of the Ribera del Duero region, is unique thanks to its altitude of between 950 and 1000 m above sea level. Due to this higher altitude, the vines are regularly exposed to strong winds that clean and dry the grapes. During harvest, the temperature difference between day and night is also around 25 °C, which leads to excellent ripening of the wine. The winery's long-standing tradition is reflected in the hand-harvesting of the grapes and their further processing. After maceration and fermentation, the wine is aged in French oak barrels for 18 months. Ideal with meat, especially roast lamb and kid, mushrooms, rice, especially meat dishes such as paella, and any dish flavoured with black truffles.
