TENERIFE/Vidueno Red 0.75l
The wine Suertes del Marqués Vidueño from Tenerife is an elegant red wine made from traditional indigenous varieties grown on ungrafted vines in the volcanic soil of D.O. Valle de la Orotava.
Thanks to hand harvesting, fermentation with native yeasts and ageing in smaller French oak barrels, it gains a delicate fruity aroma with notes of cherries, raspberries and delicate spice, complemented by a fresh mineral character.
Vidueño is characterised by a light to medium structure, balanced acidity and delicate tannins, making it a versatile wine suitable both for immediate drinking and for pairing with lighter red meat, grilled vegetables or medium-matured cheeses.
It is a showcase of typical Tenerife terroir, combining tradition, precise vineyard care and respect for indigenous varieties.

Awards:
94+ points - Robert Parker (Wine Advocate)
Grape variety:
Made from a blend of many local varieties. The blend includes dozens of Canary grapes, among them Vijariego Negro, Baboso Negro, Malvasía Rosada, Listán Negro, Listán Blanco, Negramoll and other traditional local varieties.
Vineyard:
The grapes come from vineyards in the Valle de La Orotava area in the north of Tenerife, where the vines are grown on volcanic soils at an altitude of approximately 350–550 m above sea level. The vineyards are usually ungrafted (own-rooted) and are cared for traditionally and by hand, allowing complex expression of the terroir of this unique area of the northern Canary Islands.
Production and ageing:
After hand harvesting and spontaneous fermentation, the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation and ageing in neutral French oak barrels of 500 l for about 11 months. The wine is bottled without fining or filtration, which preserves the authenticity of the aromas and the natural texture.
Taste and aroma:
Vidueño is a lighter, fresh red wine with delicately balanced acidity and soft tannins. The aroma and taste show red and dark fruit, especially cherries and raspberries, complemented by delicate spicy, floral and earthy mineral elements that reflect the volcanic soils of Valle de La Orotava. The style is balanced, aromatic and approachable, with pleasant freshness and relatively low alcohol.
Food pairing:
Thanks to its freshness and light mineral structure and delicate fruity profile, it perfectly complements dishes made from lighter red meat, such as grilled veal or chicken roast with delicate herb flavours. The wine's mineral character highlights the taste of medium-strong cheeses, such as Manchego or young goat's cheeses. Thanks to its delicate spiciness and freshness, Vidueño also pairs well with spicy dishes, such as lightly seasoned tapas or grilled vegetables. It can also be an interesting choice with pasta with tomato sauces, where the wine can balance the acidity of the tomatoes, and its fruity notes complement the flavour of the dish.
We recommend serving at a temperature of 16–18 °C, so that the aromatic nuances fully develop and the delicate acidity supports harmony with the dish.
