Mascaro Vermuth, Siset rojo 0.75l

Siset Rojo Vermouth from the Mascaró winery is a traditional red vermouth with a rich character and deep flavour, made according to the original family recipe.

It is made using a traditional method, starting with a quality white wine, usually of the Parellada variety, and distillates such as aiguardent (a wine distillate) and ginebra (a juniper distillate). These distillates form a solid base for the vermouth, giving the drink the depth and character it needs. This is followed by the maceration of more than 30 herbs, spices and citrus components, including orange peel, cinnamon and liquorice. This process ensures an intense, balanced flavour with gently sweet and bitter notes.
Although the base of the vermouth is white wine, the red colour comes mainly from the addition of caramel and a special blend of herbs and spices. After maceration, the vermouth ages and stabilises, giving it a complex, elegant and harmonious profile, ideal for serving as an aperitif or in cocktails.

Taste and aroma: In the glass, it captivates with a dark mahogany colour with ruby highlights. On the nose it is complex and pronounced. Notes of orange peel, cinnamon, liquorice and delicate balsamic and herbal nuances dominate, giving it its typical vermouth character. On the palate it is full and harmonious, with a pleasant sweetness at the start that flows smoothly into a gentle bitterness underlined by spices and dried herbs. The finish is long, balanced and elegant, with lingering notes of orange and spice.

Tasting notes: This vermouth is great as an aperitif over ice with a slice of orange, or as part of cocktails, paired with tapas, charcuterie or grilled meats.
