D.O. Navarra/Alzania El Poblado 0.75l
Alzania El Poblado is an elegant red wine from the Navarra region, made predominantly from the Garnacha variety, whose grapes come from historic hillside vineyards near the ancient settlement "El Poblado" near Los Arcos. The wine's name refers to this very archaeological site and underlines its connection to the terroir and history of the region.
After careful hand-harvesting, the grapes age for around 12 months in oak barrels, giving the wine complexity, a harmonious structure and subtle notes of wood without suppressing its fruity character.
Its aroma shows notes of red and dark fruit with delicate spicy and vanilla nuances, while the palate is full, structured and elegant, with a long, refreshing finish, ideal with red meats, game or full-flavoured cheeses.

Grape variety:
Alzania El Poblado is a red wine made predominantly from the Garnacha variety, typical of the Navarra region. Garnacha gives the wine its fruity character, delicate tannins and natural roundness, while allowing for a harmonious structure and a pleasant, easy-drinking style.
Vineyard:
Historic vineyards on land near Los Arcos, where the vines grow on soils rich in minerals, including clay and stony subsoil. The vineyards are located in an area with a continental climate, with warm days and cooler nights, which encourages balanced ripening of the grapes, preserving acidity and aromatic purity. This site is also historically significant, as the vineyards lie close to the archaeological remains of an ancient settlement, giving the wine a unique story.
The wine Alzania El Poblado is named after the place where the vineyard is located, specifically near the ancient settlement (Spanish "El Poblado"). The name "El Poblado" thus refers to the historic archaeological context of the vineyards, an old settlement or village whose remains are directly connected to the terroir the grapes come from.
Production and ageing:
The grapes are carefully hand-picked to ensure optimal quality. After harvesting they are gently processed and fermentation takes place under controlled conditions to preserve the character of the variety and the terroir. The wine then ages for 12 months in oak barrels, giving it structure, complexity and subtle notes of wood without suppressing its fruity expression.
Aroma and taste:
The wine has a deep ruby colour and a complex aroma dominated by notes of red and dark fruit, such as cherries, plums and raspberries, complemented by delicate spicy nuances, vanilla and a subtle touch of chocolate from oak ageing. On the palate it is full and structured, with fine tannins and balanced acidity, giving it a long, elegant finish with a fruity, slightly spicy aftertaste.
Food pairing:
Thanks to its fullness and complexity, it pairs well with red meats, roast game, grilled dishes or more full-flavoured cheeses such as Mahón curado, Isla Corazón or Ibores. It is also suitable for dishes with herbs and tomato- or pepper-based sauces. The recommended serving temperature is 16-18 °C, so that its structure and aromatic profile can fully express themselves.
