Mestres Rosat Brut Nature is an elegant rosé Cava from the D.O. Cava region that perfectly reflects the traditional style of the Mestres winery, focused on dryness, purity of expression and long ageing.
Grape variety:
The wine is made from traditional Catalan red varieties used for rosé Cava, typically Trepat, Garnacha and Monastrell, which give it a delicate colour, fruity character and structure suited to the Brut Nature style with no added sugar.
Vineyard:
The grapes come from the Mestres winery's vineyards in the Penedès region, where the Mediterranean climate and clay-limestone soils help preserve fresh acidity and mineral character. Hand harvesting and low yields ensure a high-quality base wine, which after fermentation is partly aged in traditional barrels, giving the wine depth and subtle complexity even before the second fermentation.
Ageing:
The wine undergoes secondary fermentation in the bottle using the traditional method and then long ageing on lees, which gives it very fine, persistent bubbles and a creamy texture. Disgorgement takes place without dosage, leaving the wine with a completely dry, precise and natural character.
Tasting notes:
In the glass it shows a pale salmon-pink colour with delicate bubbles. The nose reveals notes of fresh red fruit, delicate flowers and hints of yeast and spice, while on the palate the wine is dry, fresh, with pronounced acidity, an elegant structure and a long, clean finish.
Food pairing:
Recommended serving temperature is 8–10 °C, ideally as an aperitif or with seafood, fish, sushi, light Mediterranean cuisine or delicate poultry.
