Celler Sort del Castell, Yzaguirre selección 1884, vermouth, 0.75l

Yzaguirre Selección 1884 was created as a tribute to the long tradition and craftsmanship of vermouth-making in Catalonia, and specifically as a commemorative product for the year 1884, when the Yzaguirre brand was founded. It is the most exclusive vermouth in their portfolio, created to mark more than a century of history, during which the recipes were passed down and refined over generations.
Production: It is made using a traditional method from white wine, such as Macabeo or Parellada, which is left to macerate for two months with more than 80 kinds of herbs and spices. After blending with wine distillate and balancing the flavours, the vermouth ages for 24 months in oak barrels, where it takes on its complex, woody and spicy flavour with a long, gently bitter finish.
Taste and aroma: It captivates with an intense aroma of herbs, spice and delicate wood. The flavour is rich and balanced, with tones of wormwood, cinnamon, liquorice and toasted notes from the oak barrel. The finish is long, elegant, with a gentle bitterness and a hint of chocolate and coffee.
Tasting notes: It pairs wonderfully as an elegant digestif. Serve chilled or at room temperature. It goes excellently with chocolate and coffee desserts, dark chocolate, roasted nuts, or even cigars. Thanks to its complex flavour, it is also ideal for slow evening sipping or as a luxurious base for bold cocktails.
