Artadi, Artazuri rosado, D.O. Navarra, rosé wine, 0.75l

Bodegas Artadi was founded in Laguardia in 1985 as the "Cooperativa Cosecheros Alaveses" under the leadership of Juan Carlos López de Lacalle. It was an association of a group of growers who wanted to work together on a business project based on the winemaking wealth of the La Rioja Alavesa region. They wanted to prove that excellent wines could also be achieved through carbonic maceration, and they succeeded. The history of Artadi is bound up with the memories and stories of the people who helped found the winery and shape it into what it is today. Founded on passion and respect for the land and the vineyards.

Artazuri Rosado is a single-variety rosé wine made from Garnacha.

Vineyard: The grapes used to make Artazuri Rosado come from plots in Artazu at an altitude of 450 to 600 metres. The vines grow on white clay-limestone soils and are cultivated with maximum care for the environment, according to the principles of organic farming and without the use of pesticides or herbicides.

Harvest is done by hand into small 10kg crates. Vinification takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled low temperature, according to the traditional Navarra method.

Tasting notes: On the palate the wine is light, refreshing and well balanced. It has a pleasant acidity, which gives it freshness and increases its drinkability. Fruity flavours, especially strawberries and cherries. The wine has a delicate mineral undertone. It is smooth and has a clean, long finish.

Food pairing: Serve chilled at 7 °C. Artazuri Rosado is wonderful with light dishes, such as salads, seafood, grilled fish, pasta or rice dishes. It also goes well with tapas in the form of soft cheeses. Thanks to its refreshing nature, it is ideal for summer days.
