Chivite, Coleccion 125, Rosado, D.O. Navarra, rosé wine, 0.75l

Colección 125 was first released in 1985 to mark the 125th anniversary of Chivite winery's first wine export in 1860. Colección 125 Rosé comes from Navarra and is a rosé wine that ferments in barrels. Chivite Colección 125 Rosado is made using the saignée method from Grenache and Tempranillo grapes from the Finca Legardeta estate, which has an exceptional soil ideal for growing vines in an Atlantic climate. The harvest is done by hand. After the grapes are selected, maceration takes place at a low temperature. The must ferments in French oak barrels and then ages on the lees for 10 months.  Colección 125 is a matured rosé wine, a fairly versatile style, of medium intensity, and thanks to barrel ageing a pleasant oak aroma can be discerned. In general, matured rosé wines are medium-bodied, with an intense aroma, and pair well with braised fish and poultry. Their aroma of ripe fruit is ideal with vegetables.
