Remelluri, Viñedos de Labastida, D.O. Rioja, red wine, 0.75l

Remelluri, an ancient estate set above the village of Labastida, offers some of the highest vineyards in the Rioja region. Winemaker Telmo Rodríguez and winemaker Amaia Rodríguez Hernandorena continue the tradition begun by their father Jaime Rodríguez Salís in 1967. From the outset he focused on organic farming methods and celebrating the unique terroir of the area. The family series "Lindes de Remelluri" brings together the harvest of 28 different plots from Labastida, owned by eight different growers. It ferments naturally in stainless steel and ages in barrel for 12 months. Ripe blue and black fruit blend with a velvety texture over dusty tannins.    The Lindes de Remelluri wines are a tribute to the growers who have long worked for the estate and brought their grapes to Remelluri. Lindes means boundaries, and the wine is made from vineyards in the surrounding villages of San Vicente de la Sonsierra and Labastida. These grapes, which used to be blended into the main Remelluri wine, can now shine in bottles dedicated to a specific place. The grapes for this wine come from the Labastida vineyards. Although the vinification is the same, compared with San Vicente, Labastida lies at a higher altitude, further from the Ebro river. The resulting wine is less alcoholic, with great acidity and concentration of flavour.    This is a modern style of the Rioja region with a well-defined aroma of black and red fruit, oriental spice and a hint of liquorice. A pleasantly velvety palate, rich and juicy fruit, clean acidity, complex and inviting. Cherry colour, bright highlights and reddish chestnut edges. .    Good concentration of aromas of red and black fruit, oriental spice and lightly toasted notes.    Delicious and tasty on the palate with a silky texture and an outstanding fruit expression. Good acidity with a long, sweet finish.    We recommend serving at a temperature of 14-16 °C.    Excellent with roasted and grilled meat, rabbit and cheeses.  Alcohol content: 13.5 %  Volume: 0.75l  Origin: Spain, D.O.
