Celler Bellaserra Benplantat Rosat is a fresh Catalan rosé wine made from the red varieties Merlot and Picapoll Black, whose grapes come from carefully tended vineyards around Masía Can Planes in the Catalunya region.
The grapes are hand-picked and, after a short skin maceration, gently pressed so the juice gains a delicate pink colour, and they ferment at a low temperature in stainless steel tanks, where a short stabilisation also takes place.
The wine ages only briefly, preserving its freshness, fruity expressiveness and easy drinkability, with an aroma of fresh red fruit and delicate floral notes.
The ideal serving temperature is 6-8 °C, and it pairs beautifully with fish, salads, tapas or lighter meats.
Grape variety:
Rosat is a rosé wine made predominantly from the Merlot and Picapoll Black varieties, which give it a delicious fruitiness, freshness and a fine structure typical of lighter Catalan rosés.
Vineyard:
The grapes for Benplantat Rosat come from vineyards linked to the historic Masía Can Planes estate in the Catalunya region, where Celler Bellaserra is restoring the original vineyards and working with traditional varieties. The vineyards are located around Cerdanyola del Vallès, where the Mediterranean climate combined with cooler nights supports the preservation of freshness, aromatic purity and higher acidity in the grapes. The soil is varied, with clay and stony characteristics typical of central Catalonia, which, together with microclimatic influences, allows the grapes to achieve a balance between ripeness and freshness, with each parcel carefully reflecting its terroir.
Production and ageing:
The grapes are picked by hand to ensure the best quality. The grapes have only brief contact with the skins to obtain a light pink juice. Fermentation takes place at a low temperature in stainless steel tanks, which preserves the fresh fruity aroma and clean character of the wine. The wine does not undergo ageing in oak barrels, but is briefly stabilised before bottling, to preserve its freshness, fruity expressiveness and light, drinkable structure.
Aroma and taste:
The nose is dominated by fresh notes of red fruit, such as strawberries and raspberries, complemented by delicate floral and fruity nuances. On the palate the wine is fresh, full of fruity flavour with a pleasant acidity and a light, drinkable structure, ideal for warm days.
Food pairing:
Thanks to its freshness and fruity character it pairs excellently with seafood, fish, salads, Balkan and Mediterranean tapas, lighter meats or as an aperitif. Rosat is also a great companion to Asian dishes or dishes with herbs.
The recommended serving temperature is 6-8 °C, which helps bring out the wine's freshness and fruity aroma.
