These excellent mussels come from the Rías Baixas region in Galicia, known for its high quality of seafood. After careful selection and thorough rinsing, the mussels are steamed and then lightly fried in olive oil to remove the byssus, the fibres by which they attach themselves to their surface. They are then packed by hand and preserved in a marinade of natural ingredients, which brings out their exceptional flavour.
Mussels are best enjoyed with a good white wine or vermouth, or you can use them to add something special to your festive table as a starter.
