Fino Eléctrico is a classic wine that has been made in Andalusia since 1922. The founding Toro Albalá winery is housed in the area's first power plant, which gave rise to jokes among the locals claiming that the wine had electricity in it, or that it was "electric". This story is the origin of the famous name of the fino "Eléctrico", as well as the original bottle design featuring a light bulb. Eléctrico is a fino wine made from 100% Pedro Ximénez grapes, undergoing natural ageing under a veil of yeast, produced using the criaderas and solera system over five years. Its alcohol content is achieved naturally. The colour of this sherry is straw yellow with green glints, and in the aroma we can detect almonds and crisp pastry. The wine is very easy to drink and invites another glass, with a pleasant touch of acidity and salinity finished off by mild bitterness. Eléctrico is best enjoyed with tapas, olives, seafood, grilled fish, Iberian hams, roasted almonds and Manchego cheese.
