This sherry comes from the Montilla-Moriles region and the Toro Albalá winery, which has a long tradition of winemaking. Toro Albalá was the first winery in this region to launch the dessert wine Pedro Ximénez onto the market. And it remains the sole expert in Vintage PX port wines.
Amontillado Marques de Poley Solera 1922 is made from Pedro Ximénez grapes. It matures in old oak barrels underground and later undergoes oxidative ageing. It is medium amber in colour with hints of green, indicating the wine's age of up to 35 years. It is creamy with an aroma of sweet nuts and a touch of smoke. This wine is medium-bodied, with lively acidity and a pungent flavour with an intense, slightly bitter finish. The world-renowned wine critic Robert Parker rated it 90 points.
