Sierra Cantabria Blanco is a wine made from Sauvignon Blanc, Tempranillo Blanco, Viura and Malvasía grapes from vineyards 35 to 70 years old, planted on clay-limestone soils. All these vineyards are farmed in harmony with the natural rhythms of this much-loved environment. The grapes are selectively hand-harvested into 20kg crates and, on arrival at the winery, are destemmed and crushed by traditional methods to achieve a gentler extraction. The must is cold-macerated for 10 hours and fermentation takes place separately. The Sauvignon Blanc is stored for 2 months in French oak barrels, and the rest of the grapes are stored in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. Given that D.O. Rioja is known primarily for its red wines, especially crianza wines, Sierra Cantabria Blanco is a great opportunity to discover a white wine that is just as characteristic of the region as any of its red wines. A unique blend that beautifully reflects the essence of San Vicente de la Sonsierra. The flavour is fresh, silky and delicate, with primary fresh citrus fruits, apricots and hints of vanilla.
