Real Conservera mussels come from the mouth of the River Arousa, which gives them their characteristic orange colour, further enhanced by the famous escabeche sauce. The mussels are very carefully selected and cleaned by hand, then briefly fried in olive oil and covered with a marinade of escabeche, based on olive oil, wine vinegar, paprika, black pepper, cloves and bay leaf. These tinned mussels are produced only in their season, so that only the best specimens ever reach your table.

These pickled mussels are best enjoyed cold, so we recommend placing the tin on crushed ice or in the freezer for 5-10 minutes before opening. They are excellent on their own as a starter or part of tapas, but we also recommend trying them as a filling for tacos with guacamole.
