Pérez Barquero, Gran Barquero Oloroso, D.O. Montilla Moriles, sherry, 0.75l

Gran Barquero Oloroso sherry, from the D.O. Montilla Moriles region, is made from the Pedro Ximenéz variety. This is a rather dry sherry with a clean, dark amber colour with golden glints. A complex aroma of dried apricots, roasted hazelnuts, orange peel and cumin. A full and velvety flavour with good structure and a long finish.  Gran Barquero Oloroso is made in the traditional way using the soleras system. Casks of American oak are stacked on top of one another. At the bottom are the casks with the oldest sherry, at the top the youngest, and the wine is gradually transferred downwards. Gran Barquero Oloroso thus ages for more than 25 years. It pairs perfectly with all the dishes that are otherwise difficult to match with most wines - asparagus, artichokes, anchovies, pickled vegetables, gazpacho, and also grilled meat and vegetables. We recommend serving at a temperature of 15-18°C.  Gran Barquero Oloroso is simply such a wonderful finish to a whole dinner that you won't want dessert or coffee! A brilliant choice for a social gathering or a soothing midday glass.
