Mastinell, Cristina, Gran Reserva, D.O. Penedés, Cava, white sparkling wine, 0.75l

Mastinell Cristina Gran Reserva, from the Penedès region, is a cava made from three varieties: Xarel.lo, Parellada, Chardonnay and Macabeu. A clear, pale yellow colour with golden hues, very fine bubbles. The cava is complex, showing notes of apple and apricot jam. Fresh, yet full-bodied and balanced at the same time. Pleasant toasty notes with an aniseed finish are signs of ageing. The cava treats you to a long tasting experience.  An interesting fact about this cava is that in 1997 it was recommended for the wedding banquet of Infanta Cristina.  The grapes are hand-picked. 20% of this sparkling wine was aged in oak barrels, the rest in stainless steel tanks, after which it was bottled and underwent secondary fermentation, with the total ageing period exceeding 90 months.  We recommend serving it at a temperature of 6-8°C, paired with Asian and oriental cuisine. It is also ideal with light meats and puff pastry.
