Cow's milk cheese, Queixo Tetilla, Campo Capela, approx. 900g

Not rated
Brand: Campo Capela

Tetilla Campo Capela is a traditional Galician cow's milk cheese with a protected designation of origin (PDO), made from fresh milk from local farms in north-western Spain.

It is typical for its conical shape, from which it also gets its name. After a short ageing period, usually at least 8 days, it retains a soft, creamy texture and a gentle buttery flavour with slightly tangy, milky notes.

Thanks to its smooth texture, it melts well and is ideal on bread, in tapas, sauces or baked dishes, but also tastes wonderful on its own, combined with fruit, nuts or the traditional Galician sweet membrillo.

Tetilla cheese from Campo Capela is a classic Galician cheese with a protected designation of origin (PDO), one of the best-known cheese specialities of north-western Spain. It is traditionally made from quality raw cow's milk from local farms in the Galicia region, where cows are kept in a semi-open grazing system, giving the milk its typical gentle, natural character.

Tetilla is a cheese with a soft to semi-creamy texture, which undergoes at least 8 days of ageing, during which it retains a fresh, smooth structure. It has the original characteristic conical shape resembling a small "tetilla" (small breast) - hence its name. The outer rind is usually thin and firmer, pale yellow in colour, while the inner paste is white to creamy and very soft.

It is characterised by a gentle, buttery and slightly tangy flavour with a mildly salty finish, making it accessible to a wide range of palates. Thanks to its creamy consistency it melts well, making it ideal on bread, in tapas, sauces or for baking, but it also tastes wonderful on its own or with accompaniments such as membrillo, jams or nuts.
