Mencía is a young red wine from the Ribeira Sacra region. The Mencía grapes used for this wine come from vineyards tended exclusively by hand, planted on the spectacular steep terraces of Amandi, one of the five sub-areas that divide Ribeira Sacra. Wine has been made in this area for more than 2,000 years. The Romans were already working these steep slopes.
The colour of this wine is a joyful cherry red with bluish glints. The taste is delicate, velvety smooth, perfectly balancing between red fruit, plums and sweetish spice with an earthy aftertaste.
Thanks to its flavour profile, it is a perfect companion to hot and spicy dishes, pork and rice.
Serve the wine at a temperature of 14 °C to fulfil its full potential.
