CHINA PU-ERH is a traditional Chinese fermented tea, coming mainly from the Yunnan province. Unlike ordinary green or black teas, Pu-erh undergoes a special fermentation and ageing process, which can take anywhere from several months to several decades. As a result, it develops a dark infusion, an earthy and smoky flavour and gently sweet, sometimes even honeyed tones.
Pu-erh is also known for its digestive and detoxifying effects and is popular among lovers of traditional teas for its depth, complexity and lingering flavour, which sets it apart from ordinary teas. It can be served on its own or with light desserts and chocolate, and repeated infusions of the leaves are often recommended, as they remain aromatic even after several steepings.
