Grape variety: 100% Tempranillo

Vineyard: Comes from one of their most significant vineyards, Quintanilla, which was planted in 1950 and 1951. The vineyard is located in the village of Elvillar de Álava at an altitude of 585 metres above sea level and is characterised by clay-limestone soils with the presence of hard limestone and sandstone bedrock.

Ageing: ages for approximately 18 months in new French oak barrels. This ageing process in wood allows the wine to develop complexity and structure while retaining its fruity character. After this period, the wine continues to age gently and integrate its flavours, contributing to its full and balanced taste.

Taste and aroma: Deep purple colour with intense aromas of cherries, blueberries and strawberries, complemented by hints of wild herbs and violets. On the palate it is dry, with coarse tannins and a compact structure.

Tasting notes: Thanks to its complexity and tannins, it combines wonderfully with grilled or roasted meat, such as lamb, beef steak or pork chops. It is also an ideal companion for game, for example roe deer or fallow deer, and pairs well with cheeses with a bold flavour, such as manchego or gorgonzola. We recommend serving at a temperature of 16–18 °C, which highlights their complex character and elegant flavour.
