This white wine from the Bizkaiko Txakolina wine region is made from the Hondarrabi Zuri Zerratia, Hondarrabi Zuri and Izkiriota Txikia grape varieties from the vineyards of Kortezubi, a small town in the Basque Country famous for its prehistoric caves and a Unesco World Heritage Site. The soil here is clay and lime.
Individual grapes from the oldest vineyards are hand-picked and, after processing, fermented in stainless steel tanks using indigenous yeasts. The wine is aged using the velo de flor method in sherry casks for two months, giving it complexity and a whole new dimension.

This unique wine is recommended to be enjoyed cooled to 6-8 °C with Iberian cured meats, meats and fatty fish.
Loretxoa means little flower and is a reference to a song of Benito Lertxundi, an acclaimed Basque singer-songwriter. The quote on the label is from Swiss poet Hermann Hesse: “The sun speaks to us through light. Flowers give voice to fragrance and colour. The air communes through clouds, snow and rain“.
