The vineyards were planted in 1920 in the town of El Villar (Rioja Alavesa) at an altitude of 600 meters, on sandy loam soil. Fermentation with original yeast in used 500 liter French oak barrels and in clay amphorae from Padilla. The total aging period is 13 months.
