Guímaro A Ponte is an organic red wine produced by the Guímaro winery from the indigenous varieties Mencía, Caiño Tinto, Merenzao, Brancelleo and Souson in the D.O. Ribeira Sacra region.
Guímaro A Ponte comes from 35 to 40 year old vines planted on granite, slate and sandy soils. Due to the varied terrain of Ribeira Sacra, the parcels are very different from each other and offer a great deal of nuance. No herbicides or chemicals are used in the vineyard. Harvesting is done by hand and collected in crates.

Once picked, the grapes are cold macerated for 5 to 6 days. The alcoholic fermentation of Guímaro A Ponte takes place at a controlled temperature of 25 °C. After malolactic fermentation, the wine is transferred and aged for 12 months in used French oak barrels.

Guímaro A Ponte is a red wine with all the freshness and expressiveness of one of Galicia's most popular wine regions. It is deep red in colour with purple highlights at the edges.
The nose is medium intense, with notes of red fruits such as cherries and raspberries, and a hint of fresh herbs and a subtle smokiness. On the palate, the wine is balanced and elegant, with well-integrated acidity and soft but present tannins. The fruit flavors are complemented by hints of spice and a mineral note, leaving a long and pleasing finish.

This wine pairs well with meats such as veal and lamb, soft cheeses and rice dishes. We recommend serving it at a temperature of 14 to 16 °C.
