It is a light, bright, refreshing wine with fresh flavours of cranberries, redcurrants and raspberries and a herbal character.

The inspiration for this wine was the childhood of one of the founders of the 4Kilos winery. Francesc Grimalt wanted to make a wine that smelled 'like his childhood', so he made this wine using natural yeasts he found in the now defunct Es Sindicat wine cooperative in Felanitx, which was once a major producer in Mallorca.
The grapes, from the native Callet (60%), Manto Negro (30%) and Fogoneu (10%) grapes, come from vineyards at altitudes of between 120 and 180 metres. The climate is Mediterranean, with hot and dry summers and an average annual rainfall of 450 mm. The soil is clay-calcareous with abundant pebbles.
After manual harvesting and sorting, the grapes are fermented in large-capacity stainless steel tanks. The fermentation temperature is maintained at 20 °C and the wine is macerated on the skins for 20 days. The wine is aged for 10 months in different containers: 40 % in 2000 litre foudres, 30 % in two-year 225 litre French oak barrels and 30 % in three-year 225 litre French oak barrels.
At the end of this process, the wine is made with aromas of Mediterranean herbs, cranberries and plums. The palate is voluminous, concentrated and with a silky elegance on the palate. The tannins are well integrated and soft. A lingering, soft fruity finish. Light, juicy, crisp and incredibly drinkable.
The Island Syndicate is recommended to serve with red and white meats and aged cheeses.
