The Capeliños winery is one of the oldest wineries of the Guímaro family in Ribeira Sacra. This wine is the result of a blend of Souson, Mencía and Caíño Tinto varieties. Between 40 % and 60 % of the whole stems of the grapes are included in the production, and after 55 days of fermentation it goes into used French oak barrels for approximately 12-13 months, at which time it undergoes malolactic fermentation.

Guímaro Finca Capeliños is an expressive and complex red wine with a deep ruby colour. On the nose it offers intense aromas of black fruits such as blackberries and blackcurrants, along with floral notes of violets and a subtle hint of oak. On the palate it has a medium to full-bodied structure with firm tannins and balanced acidity. Dark fruit flavours are complemented by notes of chocolate, spice and minerals, leading to a long and elegant finish.

This wine is best enjoyed after decanting to allow its flavours and aromas to fully develop. Excellent with grilled meats, hearty stews and aged cheeses. Overall, it is a powerful and refined wine that shows the unique terroir of the Ribeira Sacra region.
