Enate - the place where art meets wine

21. Srpna 2018 Enate - the place where art meets wine

Somontano is the Spanish wine region Denominación de Origen (DO), created in 1984, located in the Huesca province of the same name (Aragon, Spain). It borders the Sobrarbe and Ribagorza regions in the north, Hoya de Huesca in the west, Monegros in the south and the Litera region in the east. Wine production is concentrated in Barbastro.

Winery producing wine under the DO mark must comply with the regulations and standards associated with its use.

The name Somontano, as its Latin roots mean, means "under the mountain" - it perfectly defines this geographical area, which extends from the foothills of the Pyrenees to the Ebro valley. DO includes 43 municipalities, most of which are in the Somontano area, and several in the neighboring Ribagorze and Monegro. There are more than 4000 hectares of vineyards and about 500 individual grape growers.

As in the whole of Spain, the red variety Tempranillo is also successful in Somontano, as well as the classic varieties of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah and Pinot Noir. White wines are typical Macabo, Alcanó, Chardonnay and Gewürztraminer for Somontano.

Enate

Enate and art - they almost rhyme, which can not be a coincidence - meet a noble point: the desire to create. When everything began in 1992, the winery decided that the matching of winemaking and contemporary culture would be an essential feature of its character. It was a challenging challenge both from a commercial point of view and from an artistic perspective, but it was an unquestionable triumph that was copied by others over time.

It was actually a desire for creation. Just as winemaking is without wine can not exist, Enate accepts art as the essence of its identity. These two concepts together enrich each other.

In 1992, Enate formally committed to pairing these two concepts, which is in contradiction with the almost mathematical experience of the winemaker with the unpredictability of wine-inspired artists. Today, the Enate is a winery as well as a museum. It is both a vinotheque and an art gallery and its character was created by the symbiosis of both.

DO Somontano / Enate Rosado

The high-quality pink wine of the Enate winery is made from Cabernet Sauvignon variety from Somontano. The grapevine is harvested manually and handled carefully to preserve all qualities. The wine is characterized by a distinctive grape aroma with a touch of blueberries and gooseberries. Its mouth is full and full of body, thanks to its balanced acidity it offers a fresh taste. It is a wine with a white spirit and full red wine that was ready to play and win the "Champions League".

DO Somontano / Enate Shirah-Syrah

Excellent cherry wine is produced from Syrah varieties grown in the Alcanetos and Cregenzan valleys. After manual harvesting and double fermentation the wine matures in barricaceous barrels of French oak for 16 months. It is a fine wine, in which the symphony of the fruit flavor of the vanilla background blends together. It is complex and dense with a pleasant velvety tannin.

DO Somontano / Enate / Reserva

The Enate Winery produces this wine from the Cabernet Sauvignon variety grown on its own vineyards. Harvesting takes place manually, after fermentation, the fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature of 28 ° C. The second fermentation takes place in barrique barrels, where it also matures for 1 year. Prior to launch, it matures for another 2 years in a bottle.

The wine is characterized by a bouquet composed mainly of forest fruits and can also feel spices, such as vanilla and cinnamon, and mint. Taste dominates stronger tannins, tobacco flavors and blueberries. The dose is beautiful and velvety.
