Hiru (hiri in Basque 3) is one of the most popular Spanish wines. It comes from the Luis Cañas cellars in the Rioja Alavesa area, which forms the transition between the Atlantic and Mediterranean climates. The Cantabrian Mountains form a defensive shield against the northern winds and storms, creating a dry climate with high temperature fluctuations, an ideal climate for growing and ripening the wine.
It is made from the Tempranillo variety and grapes pass through a very careful selection. The trash does not have more than 3 grapes and thus guarantees 100% quality wine. Fermentation takes place in barrique barrels, as well as subsequent 24-month maturation. On the floor, it is very wine-like and tasty with a long maturity and a very good structure. The aroma is very fresh on the ripe red forest fruit on the background of herbs.
The British magazine Decanter has ranked Luis Cañas wine cellars among the top 100 in the world. Ferran Adria exclusively selected Luis Cañas for his new Barcelona Ticket Reset project.
