Liqueurs

Liqueur is a sweet alcoholic drink, often flavoured with fruit, herbs, spices or other fruits and sometimes cream. The word liqueur comes from the Latin liquifacere, meaning to dissolve. This refers to the dissolving of flavour components in alcohol during the preparation of liqueur. Liqueurs are usually not aged for long periods of time, but may "stand" for some time during production to allow the ingredients to combine properly.
