Mencía is a young red wine from the Ribeira Sacra region. The Mencía grapes used for this wine come from vineyards treated exclusively by hand, planted on the spectacular steep terraces of Amandi, one of the five sub-regions that divide the Ribeira Sacra. Wine has been produced in this area for more than 2 000 years. The Romans began working on these steep slopes.
The colour of this wine is a cheerful cherry red with bluish highlights. The palate is soft, velvety smooth, perfectly balancing red fruits, plums and sweet spices with an earthy aftertaste.
Its flavour characteristics make it the perfect companion for spicy and savoury dishes, pork and rice.
